Junior Rockland Riders: April 30-May 16;   Ages 5-8

This is a chance for the earliest riders to enjoy the freedom and thrill of riding on two wheels off-road.  We will meet and ride at the kids area within Rockland Bike Park at the Route 79 (Durham Road) entrance.  We focus on safety, fun, skills, and challenge. Riders ages 5-8 who have shed their training wheels and have ventured off of even paths are welcome to join.  Riders need a helmet and water.
4:30 – 5:30  PM Rockland 79 lot, kids area.   April: 30 May: 1, 7, 9, 14, 16. Rain dates May 21, 23.  4:30 – 5:30 each day

Introduction to Mountain Biking: Summer; Novice to Intermediate Ages 9-15

This is how kids age 9-15 who like cycling learn to love mountain biking.  We will focus on building rider confidence and skills in a supportive way for the novice rider who is capable of riding off road but new to trail riding.  All rides begin at the Renee’s Way trailhead and end at the 79 lot for mostly downhill riding through the day. Riders need a trail-ready, functioning bicycle, helmet, water, and spare tube.

9 – 11 AM.  Renee’s Way dropoff, 79 lot pickup.  Sessions: July 15, 16, 17  and 29, 30, 31.  Inclement weather or trail conditions may alter schedule.

Advanced Mountain Biking: Summer; Intermediate to Advanced Ages 11-16

This is the safe and supported way to let your kids age 11-16 ride hard in the woods.   We will focus on advanced skills, fitness, and understanding risk. We ride hard and cover 5-10 miles in 2 hours.  Riders should have experience pedaling hard on trails.
Sessions: July 8, 9, 10  and 22, 23, 24 August 5, 6, 7. Inclement weather or trail conditions may alter schedule.
